"At The DBT, we believe that every dog deserves a happy, healthy relationship with their human family - and the professionals who care for them. That's why we offer expert dog behavioral training for owners, as well as specialized support and education for groomers and grooming businesses. Our goal is to help you connect with the dogs in your life, foster a more compassionate understanding of their phycology and body language and empower you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build stronger, more meaningful relationships with them.
Jade and Del Boys Legacy
My journey in dog training began when I was just 10 years old, and my passion only grew stronger with time. In 2018, I formalized my education by completing a Level 4 certification at the prestigious British College of Canine Studies in the UK. Fast forward to today, and I'm humbled to have spent nearly three decades dedicated to understanding and supporting our canine companions. But the greatest teacher I've ever had isn't a book or a course – it's my loyal companion, Del boy. His impact on my life and work has been immeasurable. He's taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, empathy, and the transformative power of human-animal connections. As a result, I've had the privilege of helping thousands of clients and dogs, and I owe it all to him. Del has since passed but in recognition of his profound influence, I renamed my business to honor his legacy. Del Boy's Teachings (DBT) is more than just a name – it's a testament to the life-changing bond we share with our dogs.

Attending Jade’s in-person seminar at Groom Wars 2024 and her recent NZ webinar was a game-changer for me as a groomer. What sets Jade apart is the heart and depth she brings to her teaching. Her passion and commitment to the dogs well-being, and helping us truly understand and work with them is next level. It’s something every groomer should experience. She also encourages us to reflect on ourselves and how we show up for the dogs in our care. Jade teaches us to read canine body language, understand dog psychology, and communicate in ways that build trust and empathy. Her approach has not only improved my grooming skills but is also giving me the confidence to fully support each dog I work with in the right way. Every groomer who wants to do right by the dogs they care for should learn from her—we’re incredibly lucky to have access to her knowledge.

Man, where do I start? I attended one of Jade and Alyssa's seminars yesterday. I wasn't overly sure what to expect, but I did walk in with pretty high expectations of being able to walk out with the knowledge I needed to better myself as a groomer. Safe to say they exceeded my expectations. Not only are they both lovely, relatable, and down-to-earth ladies, their approach using balanced training really spoke volumes to me and resulted in me learning the kind of techniques that I would personally want to and feel most confident implementing within my business. I learned so much more than just canine correction and trying to understand the dogs body language; it's all that background stuff that you don't really consider—things as simple as where our own head is at when we approach an unbalanced dog, the way we hold ourselves and the body language we display—that really resonates with me. I am very grateful I got the opportunity to meet them both and can't wait to see what else they bring to the grooming/canine world. 
If you are ever on the fence about doing one of these seminars, all I can say is it's a no brainer, book in, you won't regret it!
